I have more than 18 years experience in Educational Technology as an accomplished leader and my mission and vision have been the driving forces behind the technical success of School Districts.
I lead by example and empower others so as to produces more leaders.
I never forget that K20 is here to serve the students with Knowledge and Mentoring. Lockdown and Monitoring is not the learning institution. Technology is a tool, not a solution, nor a teacher and should be used as such. Education is still in the PEOPLE business where we prepare students for THEIR future, not ours.
I am presently honored to be a part of El Rancho Unfied where we are building a District that is "Second to NONE".
Through continuous development of my department, and by working with students and staff, I exemplify leadership and knowledge in Technology. As a Computer Technician, Supervisor of Networks, Director of Technology and Adjunct Professor, I work to steer Educational Technology to the forefront of the K20 Industry.
Before working for El Rancho, I worked with Whittier City School District, Hacienda La Puente Unified School District, consulted with Little Lake School District and private Industry in all aspects of Technology.
I still enjoy consulting and mentoring and have been given a tremendous opportunity in doing just that as a CETPA CCTO, Board Member and Mentor. I maintain that a student should exceed their teacher at the end of the day and be able to teach what they were taught. Showing your expertise through instruction is the best way to prove mastery. My task is to help teachers teach and students learn. This philosophy extends into many industries even outside of Education.
My exceptional track record of technical improvement is based on my belief of being a life long learner, leading by example and having the ability to break down complex problems into understandable bits. I quickly identify issues as defined by ITIL and translate them into a passage of knowledge that goes far beyond a “fix”. I have an ability to prepare for future challenges by utilizing my network of industry connections and social networks to stay informed on technological advances.
My education includes an MPA degree from the California State University of Northridge and a B.S. degree in Information Systems from American Sentinel University. I am a CCTO (Certified Chief Technology Officer) through CETPA (California Educational Technology Professionals Association) , CETPA Board Member, CETPA CTO Mentor, Certified Leading Edge Administrator, ACSA (Association of School Administrators) Member and Mentor, a Member of CUE (Computer Using Educators), and serve on the Rio Hondo College CIT (Computer Information Technology) Advisory Committee. I have also recently added a CTE Teaching Credential (Career Technical Education) in Information and Communications Technologies along with Adjunct Professor responsibilities at Rio Hondo College.
